Job Title: Accountant

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Location: Delhi

Start Date: ASAP

• Responsible for indirect tax compliance filings including working with accounting data, personnel, and outside advisors
• Assist global tax compliance and external tax advisors in the preparation of various indirect tax filings to ensure accurate and timely filings, mainly focusing on VAT and GST
• Perform general accounting functions including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and sub-ledger reconciliations
• Monitor and analyze financial transactions to ensure accounting records are complete and accurate
• Participate in the annual financial audit process including interactions with internal and external auditors
• Assist with other tax related projects on an ad hoc basis and general administrative tasks
• Preparing financial analyses and reports.
• Liaising with external auditors and CA Firms
• Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts as per Indian Accounting Standards
• Assisting with annual audit preparations.
• Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
• Maintaining MIS (Management Information System)
• Excellent communication skills are key to ensure candidates can efficiently work together with the team, likely daily/continued contacts are going to be required, by various communication channels like slack, zoom, email, etc.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or Taxation (Commerce)
• Three plus years of experience as an accountant
• Knowledge of indirect tax strongly preferred, VAT/GST is a plus
• Proficient in Tally and Advance Microsoft Excel
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Must work collaboratively and possess a strong work ethic
• Must be comfortable interacting with external tax advisors
• Track record of identifying inefficiencies and developing solutions to improve processes
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Experience with startup is a plus
