Position Overview

Team

The Moderation Platform team is responsible for developing and managing moderation related tools and features for Customer Service (CS) division to ensure Trust and Safety for mercari Marketplace as well as Fintech users.

Currently, we have the following team in Mercari India:

Mod Platform - India: Responsible for developing and managing moderation related tools and features specially in Item moderation. Also, the team will be responsible for continuous enhancement of the tool and features in collaboration with CS division as the Fraud pattern keeps changing.

Role

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager for the Moderation Platform team in India, under the Trust and Safety division, who has a strong background in Product management including requirements gathering from end users, check feasibility with engineers, schedule the delivery timeline, UX designing and coordinate until delivery. Someone who is experienced in creating product strategy with long term product road maps. Also, It would be an added advantage if the candidate is familiar with fraud trends in E-com and fintech industries as well as anti-fraud tools and systems.


Work Responsibilities
  • As a product manager (Trust amp; Safety), you will apply to your work a deep understanding of the need for data and machine learning and how it can be applied in practice to improve Mercari, a product with over 20 million monthly active customers.
  • Drive product and technical requirements, product strategy and end results for data collection, processing and publishing that create measurable impact.
  • Own responsibility for product delivery and drive an iterative product development cycle, balancing between getting things released and creating a solid long-term foundation.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with a willingness to get into the details of the work performed by the team members.
  • Collaborate closely with the Customer Service Division, Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Scientists to create data-driven solutions.
  • In your work, you will take a technical approach to optimize fraud detection and customer service tasks. You might also be involved in developing projects for AI/ML usage and operation tools in order to resolve fundamental issues while coordinating closely with the Customer Service Division.
