The Business Intelligence Analyst will build and maintain high-quality reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Microsoft Power BI from multiple data sources including cloud services, source file formats, and data warehouse. This position will support a wide range of business and clinical needs that include the operations lifecycle as well as client and partner business intelligence needs. The role contributes to the organization’s strong drive to be at the forefront of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Business Intelligence (BI) in clinical trials to simplify data processing, discover imperceptible correlations, and be able to act on data results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop / Power BI service and other products.
- Able to connect to various data sources, importing data and transforming data for Business Intelligence purposes.
- High-level expertise in SQL, DAX, and Power Query M.
- Engages with various internal cross-functional departments including Data Management, Technology Solutions, Biostatistics and Statistical Programming, IT, Project Management, Change Management, and Business Development to strategically identify areas of needs, including specific reporting requirements to increase the efficiency of processes and detecting information trends.
- Provides Power BI administration.
- Provides analytical thinking for translating data into informative visuals and reports.
- Able to implement row-level security on data and understands application security layer models in Power BI
- Demonstrates expertise in creating complex data models and using advanced-level calculations on the data set.
- Ensures that the user interface can be correctly navigated by end-users.
- Responsible for design methodology and project documentation.
- Adept in developing, publishing, and scheduling Power BI reports as per the business requirements.
- Should have knowledge and experience in prototyping, designing, and requirement analysis.
- Should have knowledge and skills for secondary tools such as Microsoft Azure and Python.
- Able to integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS), or by API automation.
- Delivers high-quality software design documentation.
- Prototypes new ideas/technologies to create a proof of concept and demos.
- Contributes to the development of standard operating procedures to support key development requirements.
- Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Adherence to all essential systems and processes that are required at SDC to maintain compliance with business and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- 4+ years using PowerBI in a professional environment for UI, analytics, and reporting
- Experience in the software development lifecycle.
- Experience with development tools (JIRA, Git), and automated tests.
- Ability to work with stakeholders to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
- Ability to identify issues, present problems, and implement solutions
- The capability of communicating technical concepts clearly, concisely, and understandably to non-technical colleagues
- Good leadership, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Education or Equivalent Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field with at least 2 years of relevant experience
