About the role

This position works directly with the Controller and Accounting Manager on Accounts payables. This position will work closely with our India team and under a hybrid work schedule with a minimum of three days per week in our Mumbai headquarters.

We are looking for a candidate with a degree in accounting or finance and with accounting experience who is willing to learn and grow with an expanding Famp;A team as it scales the team’s capability to maintain financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, inventory and payments. The candidate will be involved in organizing accounting files, posting transactions to QuickBooks (company is currently upgrading to an ERP system), conducting monthly reconciliation and other accounting and administrative projects and activities.

Ultimately, the candidate’s responsibilities will include an increasing focus on accounting responsibilities to accurately record all daytoday financial transactions of AP, bank and credit card reconciliation, and assist with monthend close and reconciliations. A desire to learn and grow in the accounting profession is important to grow in this role. Additionally, excellent interpersonal skills are needed for interfacing with management, auditors and other members of the Terviva team.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Processes the US and India accounts payables, ensuring transactions are recorded timely and accurately by recording appropriate TDS and GST.

Ensure vendors are paid in a timely manner; prepare AP aging report.

Records cash receipts and bank deposits, post receipts from accounts receivable, issue invoice to customers and ensure that receivables are collected promptly; prepare AR aging report.

Oversees expense reimbursement and reporting and oversees credit card process and reporting.

Conducts reconciliation of accounts payable, accounts receivables, credit cards, expensify, Tradogram, Bill.com and other systems Terviva will be using from time to time.

Maintains accurate vendor records including adding/charging/purging vendor record

Responds in a timely manner to inquiries from vendors, customers, employees, other relevant internal and external stakeholders; and resolves concerns or discrepancies in timely manner.

Assemble information for external auditors and assist with annual audit work.

Assist in implementation of financial processes and procedures

Maintains an orderly accounting filing system.

Tag and monitor fixed assets and maintain fixed assets schedule.

Assists with inventory transactions

Participate in the month close process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation and financial reporting package.

Performs other duties as may be required from time to time.


Requirements

Chartered Accountant certification required.

2-3 years of relevant work experience.

Excellent written and verbal communication.

Ability to adjust quickly to changing priorities and conditions.

Proficiency in MS Office.

Highly detailedoriented with the ability to maintain accuracy in a fastpaced environment.

Strong organization skills with ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Selfstarter with excellent problem solving skills and the commitment to followthrough.
