Where do you come into the picture?
Nium clients run from established financial services companies, non-traditional financial institutions, travel companies, corporate services companies to fintech startups all looking to make payments more efficient or to complement their existing portfolios. For issuing payment products NIUM provides an end-to-end solution for corporate and public sector clients and consumer card programs where we can provide the requisite licenses for issuing card and account products as well as industry leading payment processing technology.
Within the Cards Issuing Product Team, you will work with the Product Management team to define and implement our strategy for card issuing products especially in the areas of processing technology with our processor partners. This is a fast paced and dynamic position that needs the candidate to be highly flexible, able to deal with ambiguity and unstructured scenarios, follow the process where there is one and create the process where there is none. The candidate needs to work well with our technical partners in a collaborative approach and also be able to manage the relationships firmly when required.
What would a day in your life @ Nium look like?
- Be responsible for the technical product management of Nium’s cards platform with the card processors and other related partners
- The person in this role will be the de-facto technical liaison between Nium and our card processor amp; other partners.
- Collaborate and work closely with our external processing partners and vendors in the launch and implementation of the processing platform for all Nium markets and regions.
- This involves working with internal and external teams to identify the market specific requirements related to compliance and regulatory requirements
- Work with our processing partners to ensure the card processor’s platform have features that are compliant for the specific markets in question and where there are gaps to draft up the solution in conjunction with our partners and have that delivered in a timely manner
- Work with our processing partners to complete the required Visa amp; Mastercard scheme certifications for each country and region where Nium launches cards amp; issuing services
- Work with our processing partners and the scheme on technical certification for mobile payments and tokenization (Apple Pay, Google Pay).
- Work with card production partners on card generation specifics such as EMV chip settings, offline/online PIN etc
- Collaborate and work with various internal departments to implement solutions that will address the needs of our internal initiatives as well as clients.
- Document and define new platform features and functionality which will increase utility of an existing issuing product or for new issuing products.
- Definition of platform features include creating
- detailed user and process flows
- technical level designs and algorithms to satisfy the feature requirements
- Working with clients to define business requirements from the high level down to the detailed levels.
- Work with the technical development teams to review the solution and technical designs with an understanding on how the solution impacts the overall platform architecture
- Where the solutions require changes on our card processor partners, to work with our card processor partners to define viable solutions and drive those changes to delivery, taking into account Nium required timelines as well as partner availability and release schedules.
- Work with the technical testing teams to review the test cases and testing to ensure newly defined platform features are properly tested
- Some platform features require development of new APIs for which field level designs are required.
