Job Description

Coursera was launched in 2012 by two Stanford Computer Science professors, Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, with a mission to provide universal access to world-class learning. It is now one of the largest online learning platforms in the world, with 82 million registered learners as of March 31, 2021. Coursera partners with over 200 leading university and industry partners to offer a broad catalog of content and credentials, including Guided Projects, courses, Specializations, certificates, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees. More than 6,000 institutions have used Coursera to upskill and reskill their employees, citizens, and students, including in high-demand fields such as data science, technology, and business. Coursera became a B Corp in February 2021.
At Coursera, the Industry Partnerships Team has the vision to enable learners to acquire the high-demand skills they need to perform and acquire the jobs of the future. Through innovative partnerships with industry leaders (e.g. Google, IBM and Microsoft), we can empower learners around the world to land their next job or promotion. Over the past 2 years, Coursera has deepened these partnerships to identify more opportunities to bring their expertise to the platform and close new partnerships to extend to new industry verticals.
In your role, you will own a broad portfolio of partnerships with leading companies in India seeking to build online learning programs to reach learners around the world amp; ultimately help them advance their careers. You will develop relationships with top brands in India to form content partnerships with Coursera. Additionally, you will coordinate with the broader cross functional team (product, marketing, technical account managers) to maximize the reach of the partnership to improve the lives of learners around the world.Responsibilities:
  • Own the development of a portfolio of industry partners in India
  • Close complex IP deals with fortune 500 companies and leading technology non profits
  • Drive strategy in collaboration with partners to maximize revenue and user engagement, Lead acquisition, execution, and learning content optimization with partners and third parties to achieve aggressive joint business plans and conduct regular reviews with internal and external stakeholders ensuring successful learner and partner outcomes
  • Coordinate and manage internal and external teams to ensure the highest quality of educational programs are created and launched on time, including collaborating with Coursera’s product, content delivery, marketing, and enterprise sales teams
  • Develop innovative new initiatives with partners to drive shared goals and invent new ways for learners to succeed in their careers and partners to succeed in their organizations and missions
Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of related experience in account/partnership management, Strategic alliances and/or business development and strategy
  • Track record of delivering to financial plans and KPIs
  • Demonstrated team leadership, analytical mindset, partner management and project management skills, and financial acumen
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing partnerships with large fortune 500 companies, structuring partnership agreements and working with cross functional teams to on-board new partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically, to influence across the organization at all levels, and to ensure flawless execution
  • Demonstrated ability to form long-term strategic business relationships through engagement with senior executives as well as technical subject matter experts.
