Job Description

The Growth and Business team at Apna owns user and revenue growth metrics across all business lines candidates and employers. The team has played a key role in Apna’s growth journey to become a clear market leader in the space within 18 months of product launch overtaking multiple incumbent players. This has been achieved by managing multiple short and long term levers, such as marketing, sales, search engine or appstore optimization, product changes and partnerships and tactically thinking through resource and capital allocation, cost-upside trade-offs and realization timelines across multiple initiatives. We are adding new members to the team to augment our existing capabilities and help chart Apna’s next phase of rapid business growth amp; product development.

Requirements

We’re hiring for a role in the Founder’s Office to lead planning and strategic projects for the Growth amp; Business team at Apna. The role will be focused on working cross-functionally and managing a team of data and business analysts in order to

  1. Drive a data driven planning and reporting/ calibration process with a focus on defining objective targets and guardrails for the different growth channels (outputs)
  2. Charting out the medium-long term strategy for the company, identify and prioritize strategic projects based on impact vs effort
  3. Dig into detailed business metrics, identify root causes/ insights and pick-up hands on execution to drive projects to closure within expected timelines
  4. Lead 0 to 1 initiatives, such as new business models, partnerships, transformation projects, etc. that require cross functional collaboration, execute successful POCs, derive learnings, layout the long term processes and hand over to long term owners
    1. Specific examples - International amp; pan-India GTM, Monetization strategy and execution plan
  5. Support/ lead bespoke partnerships, corpdev, investor relations and fundraising mandates in the medium-long term
  6. Setup and manage a robust process to track business metrics across key competitors and inform key decisions internally
  7. Manage a team of analysts and smart generalists to deep dive into P0 problems for the business, derive business insights and inform execution planning
  8. Identify and prioritize medium-long term projects that can deliver non-linear growth in scale of business and/ or revenues
  9. Setup and drive the monthly/ quarterly planning process and tracking of the KPIs across KRAs for different growth and business sub teams
  10. Own the content and set context for critical weekly and monthly business reviews with org leadership
  11. ROI optimization - Identify what specific growth sub-segments at a city/ category level should a higher focus to drive the highest value for every $ invested

Required Skills

  1. Problem solving - Ability to breakdown complex problems into smaller pieces and layout clear gameplans
  2. Analytical Skills - Comfort with big datasets and ability to understand what data to pull and analyse to derive business insights. You can operate excel in your sleep. Functional understanding of querying and visualization tools like Mixpanel
  3. Develop Business Cases - Deal with ambiguity and layout a clear thought process to translate input efforts into output business KPIs
  4. Stakeholder amp; Team Management - Ability to manage stakeholders across levels and teams to deliver on tight execution plans
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills - You will set the agenda in critical meetings and will need to drive action effectively
