Overview of the role:

We are looking to recruit a Business Development professional to join Euromonitor’s ABC (Advertising, Banking amp; Consultancies) new business amp; account management team catering to global and local organizations across India. The role is based out of Euromonitor International’s office in Bangalore.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening and expanding existing relationships as well as winning new accounts within Advertising, Financial institutions (Commercial banks, Investment Banks Mergers amp; Acquisitions, Equity Research, Asset Management) amp; Professional services (Management Consultancies, legal firms) companies across India. The main task of the role will be to target existing global/local accounts as well as target new prospects to balance proactive revenue-generating activities (syndicated and bespoke research capabilities) with client support to maximize the use of Euromonitor’s services. This is a high-volume outbound activities environment that will suit highly motivated sales professionals preferably with a proven track record in consultative selling of business solutions. You should possess the initiative, tenacity, and commercial awareness to find the right contact and sell the benefits of our products. You will be skilled in networking within targeted client accounts and bringing together the needs of customer personnel into collective service solutions.

The BDAM role is seen as an exciting, challenging, and creative opportunity where you work closely with executives across all levels. The relationships you uncover and maintain can yield countless engagements which are further encouraged by a base salary and uncapped commissions.

The Business Development professional in the ABC team wears two hats:

Being an entrepreneur - As a self-driven and intellectually curious executive, they enjoy hearing challenges from senior executives, questioning to understand the big picture, and then building a solution that involves multiple products and capabilities. Resourcefulness, flexibility and innovation are key characteristics of interest. Being an entrepreneur also requires the ability to allocate internal resources, communicating effectively with internal and regional teams.

An experienced and self- driven sales professional - It is important to not only achieve, but take personal accountability to exceed sales targets, looking to establish new ways of entrenching Euromonitor’s services within existing relationships. The ability to close deals by building consensus internally and externally while continuing to drive urgency via tangible next steps is vital.

Sales Process

  • Responsible for annual New Business target.
  • Securing renewals from existing accounts against our 90% retention rates through
  • Client servicing and account management in the assigned territory
  • Uses a refined consultative approach to identify points of engagement. Going beyond providing data to applying our industry insights for problem-solving. Seeking areas to assist with urgent projects but also building consistent, structured, and predictable points of engagement.
  • Always hunting for new areas our capabilities can be applied
  • Expanding our contacts beyond existing sources, developing a tailored value proposition for various areas within an organization
  • Presenting a benefit-led approach to engagement and basis for continued relationship building
  • Assist in the creation of syndicated and consulting proposals
  • Able to use polite persistence to engage difficult to reach senior executives, following through on long term projects as well as identifying multiple ways to assist/address obstacles in the process along the way
  • Negotiation amp; support of closing syndicated and consulting/ad hoc proposals

Product Knowledge

  • Understand and succinctly explain all of Euromonitor’s databases as well as consulting capabilities
  • Able to apply and design unique solutions using all available resources to address client needs

Client Organization Understanding

  • Building relationships, creating a deeper network inside client organizations with consistent and proactive dialogue with multiple decision makers.
  • Able to map, network, and penetrate a client’s organizational structure as well as understand key business processes like strategic planning, innovation funnels, and new market entry strategies.
  • Frequently challenge clients to constructively broaden their perspective.
