Job Description
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
A Senior DevOps Engineer (‘SDOE’) is responsible for deploying and managing Tresata software installations for clients. Through automation, security maintenance, and troubleshooting, the DOE works with relevant stakeholders to create maintenance-free environments.
As a Tresata SDOE, you will be joining a team of enthusiastic engineers set out to deliver secure infrastructure that directly impacts core-business outcomes. You will develop code for automated deployment and configuration, and manage deployments by maintaining configurations and upgrading software. Environments vary from on-site Hadoop/Spark Clusters to Amazon AWS deployments (EC2, S3, EMR, VPC, Lambda) and Google Cloud deployments (CloudStorage, Dataproc, VPC). In this role you will frequently interact with clients to configure software deployments which transform how they leverage technology for data intelligence.
Success in this role requires understanding the architecture and workflow of the deployments, and responding promptly to problems. Demonstrated experience in using technological solutions and in creating exceptional software products to solve complex business problems is key. This role may require management of team members, contingent on business/project needs.
Requirements
WHAT SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE YOU NEED TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, OR strong professional programming experience.
- 4+ years of related industry experience
- Deep experience and expertise in Linux, Bash, Git, and programming and scripting (Python, Java, Ruby, Go, or a similar language).
- Deep experience and expertise in deploying and managing infrastructure within a major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, AZURE, or a similar platform).
- Required experience and expertise in Chef/Ansible/Puppet, Hadoop, Terraform, Centos, Ubuntu, and JVM.
- Evidence of independent learning and skill development beyond work expectations.
