Business Intelligence Engineer

As our Business Intelligence Engineer you will gather, analyze, identify, and lead actionable data insights to solve real complex challenges and build the most successful web/mobile gaming platform for millions of players. Your desire to solve analytically complex problems and give your team the winning intelligence is only second to your passion to lead a data-driven organization. You will question and push boundaries to eliminate inefficiencies. You should be a data wizard, not one who knows how to manipulate data but one who can truly transform it into meaningful actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Build scalable solutions / self-serve platforms that will provide data / KPIs to inform business decision making
• Evaluate right KPIs to understand the health of the business, Set up reporting to track the trends and build tools to alarm adverse trends
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
• Mentor junior engineers in the team
• Manage alerting mechanisms to keep business owners abreast of anomalies in KPIs
• Optimize existing SQL jobs and procedures
• Understanding of product and transaction systems
• Creating robust ETL pipelines

Requirements

Basic qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Math/Statistics/Engineering or other equivalent quantitative discipline
• 6+ years of experience in data modeling / advanced business analytics
• Experience in building relational databases, reporting/BI platforms
• Prior experience with one of those BI tools: Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI
• Experience in big data platforms - Spark/ Hadoop/ Pig/ Hive
• Hands on experience on Sql Server (ETL, procedures, job scheduling)
• Experience in automation using scripting languages like VBA, Python, Perl, Ruby, R etc
• Experience in Big Data technologies, like RedShift, S3, Aurora, Data Pipeline, QuickSight, snowflakes etc.
• Self-starter who can also proactively identify challenges/opportunities/solutions
• Strong bias for action, including the ability to juggle multiple priorities and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Past experience of having worked on transaction systems
• Past experience in scaling and managing Tableau infrastructure
• Ability to effective prioritize projects, manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion under tight deadline
• Experience providing technical leadership and educating other engineers for best practices on data engineering
• Knowledge of Snowflake
