Job Description

Job Purpose:

To ensure that Kido schools deliver a high-quality curriculum and improving attainment for all of their students in line with their goals and commercial expectations through: -

  • managing the region wide operations of the schools,
  • line management and support of Managers in schools, and
  • the implementation of region-wide improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  • Ensure the mission, vision, and values statements for schools are in line with daily operations and deliverables.
  • Guide and direct, monitor and evaluate the performance of Schools and their Managers
  • Contribute, as a member of the senior management team, to shape and develop the overall strategic direction of the brand.
  • Proactively monitor current and future needs and opportunities to ensure that both opportunities are maximised, and that opportunities are identified, supported, and acted upon, to attain efficiency.
  • Act as an ambassador of the school to develop, promote, and protect the brand, reputation, and service offering of the same.
  • Work out a cost efficiency plan for schools.
  • Generate and submit monthly, quarterly amp; annual financial reports to management.
  • Conduct regular audits at schools in their region to ensure quality and ensure all items in operations manual are met. A copy of these quarterly audits must be submitted to head office.

Driving Curriculum:

  • Be the Single point of contact for designated cluster of schools to drive curriculum jointly with Head of Curriculum
  • Secure and sustain effective teaching and learning in schools by ensuring each Manager has in place sound strategies for monitoring and evaluating the quality of teaching.
  • Be part of Global calls for Curriculum so as to provide observational feedback, limitations, success stories and way forward.
  • Research best practice and leverage external networks and contacts to support the provision of ideas and development opportunities.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategies in place through monitoring visits, review of assessment data, setting and reviewing of targets and KPIs, to challenge and drive action for improvement.

Leading and Managing Staff:

  • Directly supervise and support Managers in Schools in all aspects of their role
  • Manage the recruitment, appointment, and deployment of Managers in Schools
  • Support the Managers in the recruitment, appointment, and deployment of teaching staff in schools. Approve selection and appointment of teaching staff.
  • Manage managers’ performance with CEO and teaching staff performance with School Managers.
  • Identify and plan development and training needs required to increase capability and capacity to deliver.

Organization and Resources:

  • Ensure school policies and procedures for all the Schools are complete, up to date, fit for purpose, and compliant with all the standards required.
  • Support and participate in the process of acquiring and maintaining external accreditation by appropriate bodies for the Schools
  • Represent Kido Group as and when required with staff, students, parents, and other bodies for the Schools
  • Ensure rigorous application of safer Recruitment policies and procedures for all
  • Managers and teaching staff appointed to the Schools

Marketing and Enrollment goals:

  • Conduct research into the marketplace, monitoring changes and developments.
  • Organize parent/community events in order to engage parents at promoting school brand awareness and enhance enrollments.
  • In conjunction with the School Managers and the Corporate team, assist with the development and implementation of the school marketing strategy as a key driver of enrollments and ensuring all marketing material, including digital communication is always current.
  • In collaboration with the School Principal, develop an events calendar to support the enrollment activities for the academic year.

Requirements

  • Significant leadership experience as Principal in a variety of organizational settings
  • Proven track record in developing and delivering strategic change at both a local and divisional level.
  • Experience of driving standards and practices to meet and exceed quality requirements.
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a School Development Plan.
