As part of a newly formed data utilization service team in Omron APAC, you will play a role as internal consultant in translating customer’s manufacturing process constraints into industrial automation language to improve their resource efficiency and productivity

• Analyse and evaluate existing systems and processes, identifying bottlenecks if any, in the planned process flow and propose rectification measures.
• Define goals and parameters for data capturing for key measures
• Conduct Time and Motion study to implement systems to cut down the same.
• Advise on new machineries and systems and implement the Right Technology in the Right Place and Time.
• Perform process optimization by proposing and utilizing Simulation tools (Arena, Witness etc)
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing concepts, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis to improve poor performing processes.
• Determine capacity requirements and subsequent investment options.
• Create and maintain required manufacturing process documentation, including process flow charts, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis and line balancing.
• Maintains knowledge of best practices in manufacturing methods, trends and developments in technology and equipment and apply this knowledge to maintain the organization’s competitive edge.
• Serve as a consultant for the design layout of next generation smart manufacturing factories.
• Co-create innovative engineering solutions to overcome customers’ constraints as part of Industrial Solutions and Services Division.

Requirements

Academic amp; Professional Qualifications

• B.E / M.E degree in Industrial Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering

Achievements amp; Experience

• 8 - 10 years of experience as Industrial Engineer in Automotive / Food industry.

Core Functional Knowledge

• In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles

• Strong Lean Manufacturing Competence (Kanban, Six Sigma, etc.)

• Simulation tools (Arena, Witness etc)

• CAD knowledge

• Exposure to Quality Management system (ex. ISO, QFD)

• MTBF, MTTF, FMEA, Ergonomics

• Experience in operations research and optimization tools

Important Skills amp; Behavioral Competencies

• Project management skills - plan, develop and execute

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced experience using MS suite, including Access, Excel, and PowerPoint
