Know our team.

Nutrition International’s Operations unit is a dedicated team of program implementation experts who are responsible for contributing to the overall management of NI’s field operations in Asia and Africa. This is a State position located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The main purpose of this position is to provide technical inputs and ensuring key project strategies are in place with support from the state health and ICDS authorities. These include planning, building capacity of government staff and service providers, rolling out of behavior change communication interventions, streamlining and strengthening program monitoring and tracking of services, and supportive supervision.

About you

You will have a Bachelor’s degree in Medicine with Masters in Pediatrics/Preventive and Social Medicine/Community Medicine/Public Health and have at least 4 years of programming in public health and nutrition with experience of working with the Government. You have an excellent ability to communicate and develop good working relations with government, internal and external stakeholders.

About the role

The Team Leader will be responsible for:

  • Engage with the state, regional, and district health and ICDS authorities to facilitate the rollout of the project and support the SPR in managing relations with government departments.
  • Facilitate capacity of service providers and managers in health, ICDS departments, and the private health sector.
  • Plan and implement behavior change communication to improve maternal, newborn care and IYCN practices.
  • Participate in joint reviews by health and ICDS to identify issues, based on monitoring data for corrective actions.
  • Build capacity of the health system to estimate requirements of supplies required for maternal and newborn care including IFA, calcium, vitamin K, antenatal corticosteroid, etc.; is adequate for the districts.
  • Work with the project coordinator to assess the quality and timeliness of program implementation by the project coordinator and divisional coordinators.
