We currently have an opening for a General Manager of Project Engineering (SCADA) in our office in ITPB, Whitefield, Bangalore. In this position you will be responsible for the overall project engineering and technical project delivery functions for OSI India. Specific, on-the-job training will be provided.
As the General Manager of Project Engineering (SCADA) your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver high quality and efficient projects that ensure customer satisfaction and support the business objectives for OSI in terms of completion of engineering work, adherence to project costs, on-time delivery, collection of milestone payments, and closure of projects with superior customer satisfaction.
- Fully understand OSI’s plans for project delivery in India and help OSI senior management achieve the vision for a high quality, efficient and effective project engineering / delivery capability in India.
- Develop an effective project engineering team at OSI India including short and long term plans for maintaining an effective organization in line with corporate goals and vision for OSI India.
- Help OSI to extend the capability described above to support projects and other technical and support functions throughout the world.
- Build organization capability in the project engineering team including staffing and succession planning, and talent management.
- Drive good cultural, organizational and technical / procedural alignment between OSI US and OSI India.
- Devise, measure, and track key performance metrics for the team and individual that relate directly to the goals of the department, team, and company.
- Ensure appropriate plans to achieve all project milestones, quality gates and dates of interest are on schedule. Proactively identify, mitigate, and elevate, where required, issues / risks to senior management in a timely manner.
- Facilitate effective project closures, a smooth transition to the Customer Support team and commencement of the warranty services.
- Knowledge and skill to manage a team.
- Develop expertise for imparting training by his team on all aspects.
- Prepare the team for supporting new systems and technologies.
Requirements
Minimum:
- Bachelor of Engineering / Technology or related field.
- 15+ years relevant experience managing employees engaged in technical projects in the field of SCADA/EMS/DMS/OMS/Renewables
- Proven success in technical project management and resource planning.
- Effective employee management and exceptional leadership skills.
- Ability to create and document a plan.
- Ability to organize work in a way that supports effective prioritization, completion, and corporate visibility.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent common sense and business savvy professional.
- Career oriented and highly professional.
- Must have led a team of 10 -20 people for a period of 5 years or more.
- A sound team player and ability to work efficiently with cross functional teams for project delivery
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 12 - 15 years of experience in the utility Industry.
- Knowledge of utility operations and capabilities and use of OSI products (Monarch Platform).
