Job Summary:
We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) engineer/specialist to work closely with the Product and Engineering teams to lead with test strategy and plans across multiple business functions; develop and execute structured, exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality.
Your responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. You will also review system requirements and track quality assurance metrics (e.g. defect densities and open defect counts.). To succeed in this role, you should be a perceptive and creative leader and a reliable problem-solver. If you have extensive experience in quality assurance roles across multiple industry verticals and enjoy providing end-to-end solutions to software quality problems, we’d like to meet you. Ultimately, you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve system malfunctions to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test strategy and test plans
- Review requirements, specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
- Work with product managers and UX designers closely on understanding product features and build test cases based on acceptance criteria
- Deeply embed themselves with the engineering team to remain strongly aligned with build quality and delivery and release schedules
- When required, work directly with functional leads and market teams on identifying challenges, and translate that to improving the quality of testing
- Estimate, prioritize, plan and coordinate testing activities
- Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
- Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
- Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
- Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet business needs
- Liaise with internal teams (e.g. developers and product managers) to identify system requirements
- Monitor debugging process results
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies
Requirements
- Experience of software quality assurance with at least 5+ years of proven experience
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
- Experience in writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
- Experience in product lifecycle management and familiarity with Agile and Scrum framework
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
- BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter with an eye to look out for business problems or product flaws and coming up with a creative solution
Nice to have:
- Experience with CMS, ERP or workflow automation tools (Salesforce, Zoho) would be a plus
- Experience with real-estate industry or solutions will be valuable
- Experience with mobile development (Android, iOS) would be a plus
