Lab49 has an opportunity available for a Program Manager/Offshore Delivery Lead to work on complex and challenging projects. Working in an Agile environment, you will be responsible for all aspects of successful project delivery and driving transformative change for our top tier financial services clients.
Working closely with the global delivery team, this role contributes directly to the successful delivery of high-quality technology-based solutions to Lab49 clients.Responsibilities
- Collaborating with Lab49 Global Practice Heads (Engineering, Product Strategy amp; Design, Delivery Management) on sourcing, developing and retaining the right talent.
- Managing a team of engineers assuming full line management accountability for the team and team members.
- Coordinating geographically distributed projects and teams through all stages of the software development and delivery lifecycle.
- Assuming day-to-day responsibility for selected projects/clients, bridging the gaps between client business drivers and technical delivery to ensure successful project delivery in a complex, dynamic environment.
- Collaborating with the Global Delivery Management function to ensure the projects in the portfolio are well planned; have defined milestones, dependencies and assumptions; and are delivered to cost, timeline and quality requirements.
- Working with the Delivery Management team to drive best practices across the entire portfolio.
- Interacting with external and internal stakeholders to keep them up-to-date of any developments and manage expectations, ensuring the correct level of reporting and escalation at both a client level and internal account level.
- Participating in pre-sales activities as needed, possibly including crafting sales pitches, developing presentation materials, participating in strategy meetings, etc.
Skills Required
- Experience delivering projects into the financial services market and managing engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience in IT project/program delivery management with a strong track record of high-quality delivery.
- Ability to step into challenging projects, formalize remediation plans and be sufficiently hands-on to drive successful outcomes.
- Experience working in organizations with distributed teams across different time zones.
- Understanding of and ability to operate effectively with Agile methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including motivating teams and managing stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Sufficient business and technology domain knowledge to ensure that quality is being delivered.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with a background in managing teams.
- Experience working for a consulting organisation or the ability to be consultative would be ideal.
- Understanding of the of the capital markets or financial services industry is very desirable, including a working knowledge of typical financial flows and architecture.
