Know our team.

Nutrition International’s Operations unit is a dedicated team of program implementation experts who are responsible for contributing to the overall management of NI’s field operations in Asia and Africa. This position will report to the Country Director, India, and is required to lead the fortification portfolio of programs and ensure successful implementation of the program. In addition to leading the implementation, this position is also expected to ensure adequate technical assistance and support is provided to relevant stakeholders in the fortification landscape, which includes government (national and state) and the food industry. This position is expected to represent the organization at various forums and develop the scope for collaboration with relevant partners.

About you

You are a mid-level public health professional and understand the food fortification environment and policies related to health and nutrition that may affect current or future programs in India fortification expert, Knowledgeable on results-based management, performance measurement frameworks, and fundamentals of program monitoring and donor reporting. Superior communication and staff management skills. Good written and spoken English. You have held such roles in the past and have experience in working with development organizations, and the ability to develop internal and external partnerships working on public health and nutrition-related programs.

About the role

In this role you will be responsible to support the Country Director, India with the following:

  • Responsible for setting overall strategy, work plans, and implementation of the program under fortification programs including Universal Salt Iodization (USI), and other staples (Rice, DFS, Wheat Flour, Oil and Milk)
  • Review, finalize and seek necessary approvals within NI, on various Terms of Reference (ToRs), Request for Proposals (RFP), and other pre-contracting documentation and lead the process for selection of partner NGOs, agencies/consultants to carry out various assignments involved in the project implementation.
  • Responsible for budgeting and reviewing various finance management tools.
  • Responsible for setting goals, monitoring the performance, and supporting the reports in improving their skills and capacity to perform their duties as expected.
  • Position NI’s technical expertise at various state and national forums, and represent NI at various partner forums including Poshtik Network and National Coalition for optimal Salt and Iodine Intake (NCSOII)
