Job Description

You’ll be working with the product and engineering team.

This team runs on coffee with an infectious passion to build products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station) which together unlock 15-minute rapid charging.

Our philosophy: Break. Believe. Build

Break stuff. Break assumptions. Break the thumb rule.

Believe in the team. Believe in the process. Believe through failures.

Build fast. Build passionately. Build to simplify.

What you will do / Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of mechanical subsystems within the e^pack battery platform from concept to high-volume production
  • Ensure engineering quality by structured product development processes from architecture, detailed design, FMEA, and testing to develop the most reliable solutions.
  • Optimize current and upcoming products for cost efficiency, durability, and scalability.
  • Ownership of the Battery Bill of Materials (BoM) and oversee the release of part and assembly designs and drawings.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans, analyze test data, and ensure the continuous improvement of battery systems.
  • The root cause of design-related issues during the development phase and resolution
  • Mentor junior engineers to set up a culture of engineering excellence
  • Collaborate closely with quality, manufacturing, and production teams to identify, address, and resolve production-critical issues, part quality concerns, and field-related challenges.

Qualifications

  • Technical excellence in thermal, structural, or electromechanical design through first principles of thinking
  • Proven experience in ownership of complex parts from concept to high-volume production both manual and automated
  • Experience in various manufacturing processes such as casting, stamping, sheet metal fabrication, welding, injection molding, and adhesive bonding.
  • Proficiency with CAD modeling and PLM tools like Teamcenter
  • Proficient in preparing FMEA and using various root cause analysis methods like 5 why, Ishikawa, Fault tree analysis, etc
  • A detail-oriented personality with solid documentation and reporting skills.
  • Approach-driven mindset while ensuring the delivery of high-quality designs on time.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across interdisciplinary teams.

What matters more:

  • Quality of work
  • Approach towards problem-solving
  • Dissatisfaction towards mediocre work
  • Resilient attitude to bounce back after failing
  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience after completion of your course
