Our 10 people team consists of ex-YC founders leading our engineering effort, ex-Uber amp; Doordash folks leading our operations and supply strategy. Alongside our Growth team is lead by folks who went to Cambridge, Oxford and UC Berkeley.

Fleek is a cross-border video commerce platform. As a technologist your role is to solve business growth problems. We at Fleek believe every engineer is a product-engineer! From building realtime streaming for efficient video commerce, to building a payment stack scaling with 20+ countries (yes we are Global already. You will have impact the business from Demand, Supply to Operations!

Fleek is built with a modern native stack with Javascript as its backbone and React, React Native as the frameworks for app development. We have two buyer and supplier facing apps on App Store and Play Store. We also have a website that currently runs on Shopify (to be soon deprecated).

We employ AWS as our cloud provider and use technologies in OpenSearch, DataFlow and Lambda, Video streaming to build on top.

Fleek has evolved from an MVP to a product at the state of scale. We currently service anywhere around 10,000 MAUs who bring in about $1M of GMV monthly. We've been able to build tablestake features and apps such as: Consumer App, Vendor App amp; AWS backend infrastructure to support it.

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer who has 5+ years of experience building and/or leading tech. In your role you will be:

• Responsible for developing and hands-on coding in our backend (AWS) and Typescript/Node
• Establish and guide architecture designs around the company. You should be fluid with Databases, Search Indexes, Data Pipelines.
• Ability to pickup recent developments in AI to be able to apply to use cases such as search amp; personalization
• Fluent communication with teams developing frontend in React amp; React Native

In this role you will determine your own scope. We are looking for folks who can get deep with code as well as help build out an engineering team for scale!

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience with Typescript/Node
• Experience working in backend/cloud environments like AWS or GCP
• Experience working in a collaborative environment
• Having worked at a startup is a must!
