KOKO Labs is seeking a Digital Product Designer to join our dynamic and innovative team. The Designer will be primarily responsible for creating compelling designs for our digital products. The successful candidate will have a passion for design, a strong eye for detail, a research mindset, ability to work on hazy briefs, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.We build and test out projects quickly and they vary in type and reach. We work in a collaborative team and the culture helps you to build your own niche and allows exploring your skills in domains to want to grow in. This means the designer is never bored - you’ll be working on a range of projects - from user research, UX design, UI design, usability testing and even designing experience for something beyond the products including but not limited to marketing materials, communications - of course based on your interest and skills. All you need is a good sense of design and a willingness to learn.
The designer is expected to work based out of our Pune, India or Nairobi, Kenya office.What You Will Do
  • Work closely with the different Labs teams to create user interfaces and experiences that are intuitive, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
  • Create UI design at different fidelity - low to high that help us move faster to iterate and improvise design.
  • Follow best practices of design including - user research, persona creation, empathy maps, journey maps, user flows, task flows, Information Architecture, wireframes and visual design.
  • Participate in the qualitative user research projects you are directly or indirectly involved in
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and techniques, and incorporate them into your work
  • Participate in design critiques, provide and receive feedback, and iterate on designs based on feedback
  • Ensure all design work is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Participate in building the design culture at KOKO.
What You Will Bring to KOKO

We are looking for a highly technical individual contributor with significant experience in building customer-facing websites using WordPress or similar technology. Knowledge about integration with external systems would be important. You should be comfortable collaborating and leading projects in a remote environment, building rapport across the team, and doing what’s necessary to ensure KOKO’s products always deliver.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in UX design / graphic design / visual communication, preferably in a tech or startup environment
  • Bachelor's / Master’s degree in UX design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
  • Strong portfolio that demonstrates a range of design skills
  • Proficient in at least in any one design tool, preferably Figma
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines
