Job Description

Principal Accountabilities

  • Get familiarized with Civica standard software development processes, and practices set by TSG, and constantly aware about the new processes and practices as they get defined and changes to the existing ones.
  • Proactively identifying need of software development processes and practices based on implementation within projects and input it to Development Practice Manager.
  • Supporting practice managers in respective practice areas.
  • Support in org-level activities with guidance from practice managers
  • Report progress to respective practice managers.
  • Liaison with concerned stakeholders for practice team initiatives (example, Software Delivery teams, Technology Strategy Group, Civica India Leadership, Resourcing and Recruitment teams, etc.).
  • Make project teams aware about the software development best practices and help them applying them, as well as aiding in overcoming ground level challenges.
  • Mentoring graduates, bench resources, and team of experienced Software Engineers.
  • Providing technical guidance to teams of internal projects.
  • Drive learning and development plans to upscale and reskill software engineers across levels.
  • Co-ordinating with external training vendors/ institutes to fulfil ad-hoc or recurring technical requirements.
  • Conducting interviews for hiring and promotion process.
  • Comply with Civica’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Essential Competencies

  • Having hands-on experience of full-stack web application development in Angular and Microsoft technologies, .NET and/or .NET Core.
  • Hands-on experience with Unit Testing and/or TDD.
  • Working knowledge of ALM and Version control tools (primarily, Azure DevOps and Git).
  • Well-versed with Software engineering best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with any Static Code Analysis tool (preferably SonarQube, ESLint).
  • Readiness to conduct technical trainings for large group (30+) of people with diverse experience range.
  • Ability to strategize and conduct technical evaluations for external candidates and Civica employees.
  • Fluent in spoken English and able to take part in meetings and discussions.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Good leadership and mentoring quality.
  • Proactive personality and able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to work at detailed and abstract levels.
  • Able to deliver commitments on time with quality.

Mandatory Skills

  • Angular (version 2 and above) - 4+ years
  • Web API development in .Net or .Net Core technologies using C# - 2+ years
  • Unit testing for Angular and C# - 2+ years
  • Mentoring team(s) of Software Engineers - 1+ years
