Job Description

At Obran Cooperative, our people are the most important resource, and our Human Resources Manager is at the core of this, as the go-to person for all employee-related issues. This role will manage activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training amp; development, and talent management. Promoting our cooperative’s values and shaping a positive workplace culture is a vital aspect of this role.

Our Obran Health Team in Ahmedabad works this night shift (9pm-6am, M-F). We are open to having a full-time HR Manager who works the full shift, OR a part-time HR Manager, who works 8pm-12am. Salary will correspond with hours worked.

Responsibilities include:

Talent Acquisition

  • Creating and implementing effective recruitment and hiring processes to attract high quality, diverse talent
  • Outlining the responsibilities, qualifications, and expectations for each role to attract suitable candidates
  • Recruiting candidates through multiple channels to create a robust talent pipeline
  • Designing and managing an interview process that evaluates candidates equitably and effectively assesses their capabilities for the role

Onboarding and Training Programs

  • Designing and executing a comprehensive onboarding program, including digital collection of employee files
  • Regularly maintaining current digital employee files and supporting records
  • Designing and facilitating training initiatives to ensure that the new hires feel welcome and equipped to manage their responsibilities
  • Working with team leads to design and facilitate skills development opportunities for all employees

Employee Retention

  • Creating strategies to support higher retention rates and reduce churn
  • Implementing initiatives to improve employee satisfaction and engagement
  • Conducting exit interviews, analyzing employee feedback, and proactively addressing any issues or concerns raised by employees
  • Managing a thorough offboarding process for all departing employees

Compensation and Benefits

  • Managing competitive compensation and benefits packages to attract and retain diverse, talented employees
  • Benchmarking salaries to ensure employees are appropriately compensated for their skills and contributions, and paid equitably across the organization

Performance Management

  • Creating regular systems to deliver performance feedback to employees
  • Supporting Team Leads in evaluating employee performance to determine performance bonuses and raises
  • Supporting Team Leads in creating Performance Improvement Plans and monitoring progress when employees are not performing well
  • Managing termination conversations

Attendance and Payroll

  • Developing and implementing policies and interventions to incentivize good attendance and discipline poor attendance
  • Maintaining up-to-date records of employee attendance, PTO, and holiday accrual and usage
  • Reviewing and approving leave requests with Team Leads and SMEs
  • Applying attendance and compensation data to process monthly payroll

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources
  • Strong written and verbal English communication
  • Proficiency in Google Suite applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Gmail) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of compensation strategy, performance management, employee relations, safety practices and talent acquisition, and the ability to apply this information in a manner that is compliant with relevant employment law
  • Experience creating a culture of engagement, collaboration and teamwork
  • Ability to compile and analyze employment data to guide strategic planning
