Sr. Civil Engineer

GM Group of Companies is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Civil Engineer to join our team. As a leader in the food and beverages industry, GM Group operates multiple sugar mills and a distillery that produces ethanol for the government's blending program. The Chief Civil Engineer will play a critical role in managing and overseeing our civil engineering projects, ensuring the successful completion of construction and maintenance activities.

• Oversee all civil engineering projects within GM Group, including the construction and maintenance of sugar mills, distilleries, and other related infrastructure.
• Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure the smooth execution of civil engineering projects, including the procurement of necessary materials and equipment.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective measures as needed.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and industry standards throughout the duration of the projects.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to review design plans, make recommendations, and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the construction process.
• Provide technical guidance and support to the civil engineering team, including mentoring junior engineers and assisting with their professional development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience of more than 6 years as a Chief Civil Engineer or in a similar leadership role within the construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and regulations.
• Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project plans, budgets, and timelines.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications and tools, such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel.
