Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our team at Quadrant, an Appen Company. As a global leader in mobile location data, Point-of-Interest (POI) data, and corresponding compliance services, Quadrant maps and authenticates geospatial data to provide our customers and partners with reliable and authentic information to derive actionable insights and solve real-world issues. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data pipelines and infrastructure that support our Geolancer platform and other data products.

• Design, build, and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure that support our platform and other data products.
• Work with the Data Science team to implement data-driven solutions to complex business problems.
• Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to transform raw data into structured, normalized data sets.
• Manage and optimize our cloud-based data storage and processing systems.
• Develop and maintain data quality and monitoring processes to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends and evaluate their potential impact on our data infrastructure and products.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in a data engineering role.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and processing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
